Mini Sessions || Second Annual Adoption Awareness Month

It's that time of year again!  I'm super excited to announce my Second Annual Adoption Awareness Month Mini Sessions!  I can't believe how time has flown by.  Last year in Nashville, TN was fantastic, and I can't wait to see how much Hope we can Show (pun totally intended) here in San Antonio, TX!

For those of you who don't know about my story and evolvement with Show Hope, here is the short version:

I first became a sponsor with Show Hope on February 14, 2008 while attending a Steven Curtis Chapman concert. Throughout the evening, there were numbers in the corner of a large screen that kept changing to show that every 18 seconds a child becomes an orphan. I stopped staring at the screen when it hit 500 children and I knew that I had to do something.

While living in Tennessee for a few years I was able to volunteer in the Show Hope office, and I have helped run three different Show Hope booths at different concerts. It’s amazing to really understand the need that these orphans and families have! Many families have been called to adopt, and all that is standing in their way are the funds. Show Hope gives grants to these families who normally wouldn’t be able to adopt, and forever families to the waiting children. In addition, a portion of every donation goes to fund life-giving medical care to Show Hope’s orphanage in China, Maria’s Big House of Hope.

Now for the good stuff!  I absolutely know that you want to help out!  Here are four different ways that you can help change the life of an orphan today:

1. I’ve created an Advocate page through Show Hope so you can donate right to them! All you need to do is click on this link HERE  and then click on the “Make a Donation” link on the right side of the advocate page.

2. Become a monthly sponsor! Scroll down to the very bottom of my advocate page on the left and click on the blue link that says “Sponsor Now”.

3. SHARE! SHARE! SHARE! Please share this blog post and my advocate page with all of your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn or even in a blog post or by email! Let’s get the word out about Show Hope together!

4. And finally the fourth option - Schedule your Mini Session today!  100% Proceeds from every photography session (families, siblings, engagements, and children's portraits) this month will go directly to Show Hope. These photos will be perfect for your Christmas cards, as well as help out children in need! Contact me to set up your session today ~ laura@lauraelizabethphotography.com

And because I love posting photos on every blog post, I've created a special flyer describing the details of the mini sessions.  I've made it really easy to pin it to your Pinterest boards - just hover over the image and click on the "Pin It" button!

Giveaway and New Goodies ~ Part 1

All I can remember is sleepily checking my emails on my iPhone and thinking "Hmmm .... how did this SPAM email come through?"  I have never won a giveaway that was worth more than $3 (no joke), so when I read the words "Congratulations!  You are the giveaway winner" it HAD to be spam - right?  It was 7:00 in the morning and I had already been up for over an hour and a half after getting only 4 hours of sleep.  Either this email was spam or I was just dreaming (an uber AMAZING dream).

After a few more "blinks" (and checking the email address to make sure that it was legit) I realized that I had actually won the most amazing giveaway ever!  I'm still playing with my new goodies and can't wait to share them throughout the week.

Last week I added a brand new baby to my collection myself - and it comes in the mail T.O.D.A.Y.!  I can't remember the last time I had THIS many new goodies all at once.  I'll post about new baby this week....if I can stop playing with it long enough :)

And because photos make every post better....

My sister needed an updated head shot for an audition, so I took her behind a building to grab some shots while we were in the city.

Elizabeth || Franklin, TN Portrait Photographer

It was so much fun shooting Elizabeth!  We had to dodge some weather, but it almost turned into a game.

My sister "Lizzy" was my assistant today, and it was so amusing trying to talk to both "Elizabeth's"!  I don't think we ever actually got it straightened out.  Oh well, it made for a few laughs!

As soon as we were done shooting, it actually started to rain on us.  We finished just in time!

Willa || Centerville, TN Portrait Photographer

She loves to write.  She loves to play the harp and piano.   She a.l.w.a.y.s. has a smile on her face.  She's also an awesome sister to 5 amazing siblings.

Thank you Willa for spending the morning with me!

Her sister drove her to the shoot, and they brought along this little man... isn't he adorable!!

While Willa and I were off shooting, I looked behind me and saw big sis Olivia grabbing some shots of her own.  **awe**

When you get the chance, head over to Willa's online store!  She makes the most adorable jewelry.  I snatched a couple photos from her site below :)

Rhoda || Franklin TN Portrait Photographer

I really loved this shoot.  Yes, the weather was perfect.  Yes, the lighting was delicious.  Yes, it felt like I couldn't get any *off* shots that day, but most of all, Rhoda was a joy.  She is so photogenic, and made the shoot so easy and enjoyable!  It's people like this that make me love my job even more.

She saw me at the Nashville Whole Foods a little while ago, and came right up to talk.  It was so great catching up!

Can't wait to see you again Rhoda!

Happy Wednesday!

Tallent Family || Franklin TN Portrait Photographer

It was such an amazing day shooting the Tallent family's portraits!
They were so wonderful to work with and little Caleb kept us
all in stitches....isn't he adorable?!?  Big sis Noelle was so loving
towards her new baby brother... it was so sweet to watch.  He loved the
flowers that she picked, and didn't take his eyes off of them if they
were close by :)

simply precious ...

Caleb has the cutest little feet ever....

Isn't Noelle just gorgeous?  While her mom was putting caleb
to bed, Noelle and I went outside to grab a few shots.

nap time...

Thank you so much Tallent family for the wonderful afternoon!

The Tallent family runs an amazing Healthy Living business
called Beeyoutiful.  Go on and check it out!

Wilson Family || Franklin, TN Portrait Photographer

This has to be one of my favorite shoots ever!
When the Wilson's asked if I would shoot their family portraits,
I knew I would have a ton of laughs, and soooo much fun!

We were able to find some pretty unique shooting locations
like the trampoline .... how fun is that?!

They had an amazing tree fort with a tire ladder that was
another perfect location.

The youngest especially kept me giggling behind my lens

<3<3<3

cowboy boots and bare feet - two of my favorite things
They were sooo willing to get the perfect shots...even down to walking
along a gravel road barefoot

what would a photo session be without an awesome leaf fight?

Happy Wednesday
