The Great Adventure || August Goals

I sat there with my laptop open - just staring at the screen.

"I've never done anything like this before."  "It would be so amazing!"  "This is nothing at all like you... don't do it."  "That's the point - get out of your comfort zone for once!"  "You don't want to wonder what would have happened if you hadn't done it."  I had so many different thoughts racing through my head and it was hard to process them all.  The worst thing that could happen is that I wouldn't get in.  No biggie.  So why was I so nervous?

I had a little over 24 hours to make the deadline.  A little over 24 hours to either talk myself into or out of this whole adventure.  I'm not sure how I decided to go for it, what gave me the guts to record myself on video and submit it, or even anything that happened before I actually hit "send".  But that was it.  It took a *huge* leap for this little wallflower, and wow was it scary.

After I sent in my video I kept calming myself down by saying "what's the chance that you will be picked out of all the photographers out there?"  Not very comforting, but somehow it worked.  If I was so nervous about it all then WHY did I want to go sooo bad??  It was all I could think about for days.

My world seemed to both drag and speed by that weekend as I would check my iPhone every 3 minutes just in case it wasn't working (not even joking).  I kept wondering if the students had been announced yet and hoping that my name would be selected.  Then last Monday it happened.  My phone wasn't broken after all :) - I received a tweet saying that I had been selected to be 1 of the 6 students in creativeLIVE's upcoming workshop The Art Of Being A Second Shooter with JD and Jasmine.

This year has been the most strange, most fun, most "first times", most scary, and most adventurous that I have ever had.  I think the main reason that I hit "send" on my submission video was because of something I told myself.  I want to go all out, not hold back on anything, and really break out of my shell.  I don't want to live with any regrets, and my main goal this year is to be fearless and just see where God is taking me.  No excuses.  No more hiding.  Let Him be 110% in control.

Next week He is taking me to Seattle and I'm amazed, nervous, and oh. so. very. excited!!

The creativeLIVE workshop is FREE to watch online, so click THIS LINK to enroll and come along with me for an amazing workshop on how to be an awesome second shooter!

A week after I get back from Seattle I will be moving to San Antonio, TX.

I have one goal for this month - To Survive.  Sounds simple enough right?  ;-)

Happy Thursday!!

Friday Favorite || (Anything But) Lazy Friday's

Today was one of those days where everything seemed to happen, and there weren't any minutes to spare.  Tomorrow is going to be a Saturday where I am actually going to be able to take everything slow - I might even be able to ride Cappie for more than 15 minutes!

Here's a little peek into Bingley's hectic schedule.  His daily routine of chasing the cat, barking off animals with the big dogs, trying to play with the ducks, throwing his toys up in the air to play, and barking at me when I'm chopping veggies in the kitchen is soooo tiring! ....

Then and Now...

His favorite thing to do is run... from running towards me and my camera, to pulling me down the road on rollerblades - yes, this little 13 lbs. Bichon has been known to pull me down a hill to a neighbor's house.
I told you he liked running!

He looks like a bunny as he "hops" through tall grass..
...and even short TX grass too :)

Oh yeah, we found out last year that he absolutely LOVES snow!  So getting this photo of him "running" through the "snow" was super easy ... he is SO photogenic!  :D

Just Because...

Bingley is so patient when it comes to waiting on me while I'm watering the greenhouses.
He loves sitting outside while he waits for me to finish....even through big gusts of wind.
I love how he can still pull off a bad-hair-day -- Adorable ;-)

Happy Monday
